Professional Business Systems was established by Doug Weiberg in 1993. Mr. Weiberg left IBM in the early 1970’s and moved to Paris and started his new career as an entrepreneur in the office equipment industry. He built his first dealership up to include office equipment, office supplies, office furniture and teacher supplies. He sold his first dealership in 1993 and opened Professional Business Systems to concentrate strictly on the equipment side of the industry. In 2005 Mr. Weiberg sold the business to his stepson, Keith Compton, who had started in the industry in 1989 as the delivery boy and worked his way through the service, sales and management departments along the way. Keith Compton is still the current owner and works in the day to day operation of the company.
